The Naadam in Hulun Buir

In temperatures reaching up to -34C, the colourful Naadam Fair was in full swing today in north China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The festival, held in Hulun Buir, is held to celebrate the harvest and features a wide variety of events from archery and horse taming to wrestling.
The Naadam – which in Mongolian means, simply, games – begins with an elaborate introduction ceremony featuring dancers, athletes, horse riders, and musicians.
